Volunteers are Sweet!

Hello blog friends! Happy October! Am I the only one that gets to October and breathes a sigh of relief that we made it through September? The lyrics from the song "Survivor" play through my head--"I'm a survivor, I'm going to make it!" Don't get me wrong, September flew by, but what an exhausting month. Especially in first grade there are so many adjustments to be made in those first few weeks and I feel like one word well summarizes up September: ROUTINES! So so important to our sanity for the rest of the year! The kids have been working hard and are starting to get into the swing of our routines. I had a moment this week when we were walking down the hallway and the class was walking quietly on the blue line with hips and lips! *sigh* We're going to make it! :) Plus, fall is arriving and I LOVE fall! One of my favorites for sure! There are so many great things to do in the classroom: apples and pumpkins to name a few. I think I have a crush on fall: my heart does a pitter patter just at the thought of its arrival. I just made pumpkin bars for my hubby and my date night last week. Mmm. So good. Can't wait for the sip of my first pumpkin chai this season. Yum!

Speaking of things we love, I could just go on and on about how much I adore my parent volunteers! Seriously, so so blessed by the parent helpers I have this year. I'm kind of an organized nut (really I'm just in denial about having OCD...ha!) and this summer I spent a lot of time putting together a better system of utilizing and keeping track of my parent volunteers. It's been amazing. Every time a parent comes in to help in my room or one of my take home volunteers sends work back, it's like Christmas morning. What a gift they are!! Honestly, I get that excited and am just so completely amazed by their support and partnership.

I couldn't do it without them and I wanted to come up with a way to show them how much I appreciate them and value their time and dedication to our class. So, I created a variety of candy themed volunteer thank you notes, which are all in my new packet "Volunteers are Sweet!" {here}
In this packet there are 24 different notes to be able to give your volunteers. There are 2 pages of each note: a chevron/colored page and a black and white page.
8 of the notes are "You are Sweet" notes with different sayings on them for various jobs volunteers do. Like, "You are Sweet! Thanks for preparing projects for our class!" or "You are Sweet! Thanks for reading to our class!" I also left one of them blank with just the words "You are Sweet!" so that you could write in your own note or saying. You can use any kind of candy for the "You are Sweet!" cards.
If you'd rather not give out candy, these "You are Sweet!" cards could also work with any type of small gift or even just be used as a note by themselves. There are also 16 thank you cards that have a different candy theme on them. At the beginning of the packet there is a chart with the suggested candy that you can use to go with each of the notes!

I like to be prepared and what I love about these notes is that you just print them, add a sweet treat to them and then they are ready to go! You can use any size candy (full size or snack size). It's up to you! You can tie the candy to the note with curling ribbon or regular ribbon:
You can put the candy and note in an envelope:
Or you can tape the candy to the note:
October is a great month to stock up on candy too! Especially after Halloween! :)

And stay tuned tonight for an extra post for "The Magical Product Swap!" Everyone who participated has their entry scheduled for 7:00 EST. In honor of the SWAP I'm throwing a sale in my TPT store right now. That means that this packet, along with everything else in my store is on sale until Monday!
