Fancy Y Gets a MAKEOVER!!

Y'all I am so PUMPED!! One of my very first products that I made for TPT has gotten a complete MAKEOVER! Say what?!

Look at this newly updated Fancy Y unit!!
This long e phonics unit invites students to a fancy party:

where they will learn about how fancy y sounds like long e when it comes at the end of a two syllable word. This unit provides six engaging, fun, and hands on fancy and tasty themed activities for your students to learn and apply the long e spelled as y spelling pattern!

The long e activities include:

*a fancy party invitation for you to use for your classroom
*long /e/ fancy y poster with recommend books to read (the Fancy Nancy series works great with this unit!)
*long /e/ and long /i/ spelled as y word sorts with recording sheets
*a starry class game to identify long /e/ spelled as y words
*long /e/ spelled as y word hunt with recording sheets
*long /e/ as y classy book activity (make a class book of fancy words)

The activities are a mixture of whole class, small group, and center activities and many can be easily adapted to meet the needs of your classroom due to the detailed instruction page for each activity. Answer keys, the option of lined or ruled worksheets, and for this updated version I've included the option of color or black and white for the invitation and class book cover.

This is seriously one of my favorite units to teach! And the students truly get and remember how the fancy y makes a long /e/ sound at the end of 2 syllable words! Here's a picture of me from our Fancy Y day last year!
You can click HERE to read about the Fancy Y Party that we threw last year (just remember that this post has images of the old/not madeover unit--the content is the same though!)!

If you already purchased this unit in the past, all you need to do is go and download it again! And if you would like to throw your own Fancy Y Party in your classroom, I've put it on sale for $3.00 for the next 24 hours (that's almost 50% off!!)
I'm also going to give away a copy to the first 2 people to comment and leave their email addy! :)
