I really learned THAT much?! WOW!

Progress is exciting and I believe that it is so important for our students to see their growth and feel the excitement of their accomplishments!

My district just started using the Dolch sight words this year and since my students didn't have the Dolch words in Kindergarten we have a lot of ground to cover this year! :) We have been working hard and my students have been growing SO much since the beginning of the year. I was doing some assessments last week to check their growth and decided that I wanted my kids to see their growth and feel as excited as I did!

So, I created these sight word progress graphs as a result:

I keep one for each student in my data binder and let the students color the number of words they read correctly each time I assess their words. For many of my students we need to start at pre-primer and work our way up, but that's ok! We'll get there! :)

I love letting the students color them in because they really get to see their growth! One little boy exclaimed: "I really learned THAT much?! WOW!!" I love those moments as a teacher, don't you! These graphs also integrate math so beautifully and I love that too!

What I also love about these charts is that they are going to be great for data, parent teacher conferences, and meetings. This makes me so happy.happy.happy! :)
This packet includes graphs for all 220 Dolch Sight Words and there is a separate chart for each of the following word lists: Pre-Primer, Primer, First Grade, Second Grade, and Third Grade.

As always, the first 2 people to comment and leave their email address will get this packet for free! By the way, this packet and my entire store is on sale until midnight tonight AND you can use the code FB100K to get an additional 10% off everything in my store! {that's up to 28% off!!} The flash sale ends tonight! :)
