My Elf Style {A Pattern Craftivity}

It's done! My second Christmas craftivity is finally finished and I am oh.so.excited for the kiddos to get to create their elf's style in this elf pattern craftivity:
We will be working on patterns right before Christmas break and this is going to be a fun way to assess their understanding of making, identifying, and extending patterns. This is a closer look at the writing page that they will fill out about the pattern they create on their elf's socks:
This activity can easily be differentiated by giving students patterns to create. For example, some students could do ABAB patterns, others could do ABBABB, and so on. Designs can also be elaborate or simple: use colors as patterns or have students do designs and shapes! I love seeing the kids be creative and apply the concepts we are learning!

The packet comes with all of the patterns and a blackline master option for you to be able to use to create this craftivity:

Don't you just love the Christmas season! I really love teaching during this time too! There are so many fun ways to tie the season into learning! What's your favorite Christmas activity to do with your kiddos? I'd love to hear about time! Plus the first two people to comment and leave their email address will get this craftivity for free!

  1. I love the elf shoes! I really like doing Christmas read alouds and incorporating writing into activities that relate to those books. I'm making a trip to the public children's library on Monday to pick up books and review them.
