One of the things on my summer to do list was to get my office in our house settled and decorated! I'm going DIY crazy for two reasons: because I love making things AND I want to spend as little money as I possibly can to decorate it! :)

Remember, I'm trying to decorate my office for as little money as possible, and a great way to save money is to reuse and repurpose what you already have!
I already had this white lamp that was a wonderful hand me down from my family, but I wanted to cutesy it up and also cover and hide some of the stains on the the lampshade:
I discovered that you can either paint or cover lampshades and I had some cute fabric from Hobby Lobby (oh Hobby Lobby how I love thee!) that I wanted to use to cover the lampshade.
So I pinterested it up and found a GREAT DIY Fabric Lampshade Cover tutorial (Click HERE to see the tutorial!) from the

I followed their tutorial and turned my old, stained white lamp into this:
What do you think? I'm SO thrilled with it and especially LOVE that it cost me just a couple of dollars to do! Do you all know how expensive new lamps and shades are?! SCORE! :)

I love that lamp shade! Thanks so much for the resource. :) I just moved into a new (older) apartment, so every room is on my DIY list - ha! My first priority is definitely the kitchen though. Thanks for the inspiration.

Man! I just got rid of 2 old lamp shades. Pinterest should have taught me by now you never throw anything away! Haha! Your lamp is super cute! I'm on the edge of my seat waiting to see what happens to that picture frame!!!
