Pumpkin Day Countdown and a FREEBIE!!

I know countdowns are usually reserved for holidays like Christmas and New Years, but I am counting down to our pumpkin day on FRIDAY! Gosh, I am just so excited! I love pumpkin day and my kiddos are so very excited too!

I couldn't wait to do pumpkin activities only on Friday so we are already beginning to use pumpkin themed activities! (Can you tell I was also the kid that would buy Christmas gifts for my family ahead of time and then be so incredibly excited to give it to them that I would give it to them before Christmas, because I just simply couldn't wait!? Yes, guilty as charged! I just ordered a Christmas gift for my hubby and I'm not even opening the Amazon shipping box so that I'm not tempted to give it to him beforehand! Ha! Let's see how long I can hold out... :) Tomorrow we are going to be using our pumpkin number lines to do the Pumpkin Hop! I have my pumpkin number lines and recording pages all ready for my higher kiddos that will add 3 numbers with 3 dice and then the rest of the kids will use 2 dice for the addition! The kids LOVE using the pumpkin candy on the number line! Oh  my goodness-it motivates them so much and they work so hard while they do it:
Although this little plastic pumpkin in the pic will be what goes in our center basket after tomorrow!
This activity is such a fun way to reinforce counting on and utilizing the number line! The Pumpkin Hop is a part of my Fun in the Pumpkin Patch unit {here} We are currently learning about the short u sound so on Wednesday I'm going to be using the short u I Have Who has game that is in my unit and then on Thursday we will be using the pumpkin room hunt that is also in the unit!
Tonight I have also created a fun pumpkin word building activity that I am going to have my kiddos do on Friday. They will need to see how many words they can make out of the letters in the words "Pumpkin Patch."

You can download the Pumpkin Patch word building activity here for FREE:

For those of you that might have a lot of pumpkin activities already, but are just looking for some fun pumpkin craftivities that are aligned to the Common Core, I have put the 2 craftivities from my Fun in the Pumpkin Patch unit into a separate packet that can be found {here}.
We will be doing these craftivities on Friday, along with the Pumpkin Investigations from my main unit!

And in honor of Pumpkin Day only being 4 days away (woohoo!) I'm going to giveaway my Pumpkin Craftivities packet to the first person who can correctly answer this question: Is a pumpkin a vegetable or a fruit?

Happy Monday!
